Ferraton Père et Fils
Ferraton Père & Fils is a Rhone Valley family business founded in 1946 by Jean Ferraton. Its vineyards cover the Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and prestigious Hermitage, Condrieu and Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellations. In partnership with Maison Chapoutier since 1998, Ferraton Père & Fils was bought out by the latter, which was able to magnify its exceptional potential. Managed autonomously, it retains its "trademark" to give the wines it produces a personal touch, in keeping with the impetus originally given by the Ferraton family.

Ferraton & Fils has been organically farmed since 1998 and ECOCERT-certified since 2001. It benefits from a wealth of experience in this field, and is now DEMETER certified (since 2010) with biodynamic management of the family vineyard. He benefits from the technical support and quality control services of the great Maison Chapoutier. The négociant part of the business is produced using traditional methods.

"A chic classic that everyone loves!

Planted on the clay-limestone soils of the Mercurol commune, Marsanne de La Matinière reveals a nose of acacia, fresh flowers and toasted almond. The attack is supple and fresh, with fruity aromas of white peach. A cuvée that goes equally well with northern and southern cuisine.

An irresistible Saint-Péray. The nose of this Marsanne is magical, at once mineral, smoky and fruity. The palate is straightforward, precise and leaves a slight saline impression on the silky-textured finish.

"Generous notes of stone fruit, acacia flowers and orange zest emerge from Saint Joseph La Source Blanc 2021, a vibrant, medium-bodied white that reflects the vintage's fresher, more elegant, pure and balanced style. It's not for those who crave opulence and massive fruit, but I love its purity. Made entirely from Marsanne, it was aged primarily in stainless steel, with 20% in used demi-muids." (Jeb Dunnuck). A great bottle to enjoy with a nice pike quenelle!

" The archetypal Crozes of character and ageing potential : highly structured, tight and fresh, but with impeccable balance, you'll need to wait a few years for this determined, vigorous wine to enjoy it to the full." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2019) Ferraton Père & Fils produces Crozes-Hermitage wines that are among the most seductive in the appellation. La Matinière opens with aromas of red berries and blackcurrant, with a highly aromatic attack on the palate. Silky, round and supple, this wine offers excellent value for money!

"The 2015 Saint Joseph Lieu-dit Bonneveau reveals some austere notes of rock splinter on the nose, reflecting the granite terroir of the Tournon commune. Tannic and full-bodied, this wine will need a few years in the cellar to open up; but it holds black cherry and cassis aromas that should blossom with time." (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker)

"Beautiful ripeness with just the right amount of fresh fruit. The vintage profile is perfectly defined. Sappy, with a great thickness of texture, the juice is full-bodied on a semi-powerful texture. The wood is well managed. (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vin de France 2017 - RVF)
