Winemaking
Selection of wines from partner winemakers in the Côtes-du-Rhône appellation, in the Cairanne, Rasteau and Saint Marcel d'Ardèche areas. Syrah from the estate's Côtes-du-Rhône plots planted around the village of Ampuis is then blended, vinified in temperature-controlled concrete or stainless steel vats, and part of the cuvée is vinified without sulfur.
Breeding
The Syrahs are aged in 228-litre French oak barrels for 6 to 10 months.

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domain rated 1*Star (A serious, commendable production, in keeping with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
This estate has a few pretty vines in the Côte Blonde area, including one on Goutay, near their home, but their best wine comes from Les Rochains, on the schists near La Landonne. The production still lacks homogeneity, but the style is authentic, with the mark of the whole harvest. The 2017s showed a beautiful face this year.

Domaine rated (2024 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
The Garon sons bring out the best in the diversity of Côte-Rôtie terroirs. We are seduced by the style of the domaine's wines, which are distinguished by their finesse of texture. The fruit is precise, and the ageing progresses according to the terroirs and their ability to handle the wood. Among the different cuvées, La Sybarine evokes the expression of granitic soils; Les Triotes, located on the Côte Blonde, next to Lancement, comes from schist; Les Rochins is born on the brown schist of the Côte Brune.

Make no mistake about it: La Part des Vivants "won't wake the dead" with its robust, opulent feel. Far from it! With its Crozes - Hermitage accents, this singular CDR is distinguished above all by its easy-drinking, fleshy profile that tastes of greedy fresh fruit. It expresses itself with remarkable freshness and fluidity on a palette of red fruits, strongly peppery, with a touch of graphite. The whole is brought together in a round envelope, fleshed out with some fine, discreet tannins, due to the winemaking rather than the ageing process. Honorable length. It's easy to see why this unpretentious, contemporary CDR plays the charm and softness card, making it a pleasure to drink. Having said that, here as elsewhere, one may or may not adhere to the "at the same time" style, one may or may not appreciate the in-between. Already medium-rare, it should be reserved for the everyday table, but not only: homemade hamburgers, grilled meats, pluma of Iberian pork with chorizo sauce, etc...Note = 4.
