Domaine Gourt de Mautens
Domaine Gourt de Mautens, located in Rasteau, was founded in 1996 by Jérôme Bressy, who made his first vintage here. Domaine Gourt de Mautens takes its name from the Provençal "Gourt", meaning place from which water flows, and "Mautens", meaning bad weather.

Domaine Gourt de Mautens extends its vineyard over 13 hectares of vines cultivated in certified organic agriculture since 1989 (ECOCERT), and in certified biodynamic agriculture since 2008 (DEMETER). All the plots are located exclusively on Rasteau terroirs, on terraces, slopes and foot of slopes, in clay-limestone marl soils, with an average age of the vines ranging from 30 to 100 years. The old vines and the plant's self-regulation result in very low yields of around 10 to 15 hl per hectare.

Each year, Domaine Gourt de Mautens produces between 10 and 20,000 bottles, all of which are aged for long periods.

"Dense and tightly woven, it unfolds with elegance and distinction, silky tannins to support it. Black fruit, Havana, fine leather, licorice, long, spicy finish, for ageing, fulfilled, velvety chew, intrinsic balance, silky, fair and precise." (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2018)

"A real search for personality characterizes this bottle. The aromas are ripe, with scents of spices and cranberry. The palate rests on fine, acidic tannins with vinosity." (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2015). A great breed for this gastronomic rosé, powerful and complex, which will delight lovers of well-mastered rosés. A great estate wine!

"Just before bottling, it delighted us with its subtle aromatic diversity, its deep-rooted minerality and, above all, its noble bitters. A great white, a must for its terroir and its region. Truffle vegetables, Guy Jullien style, will be its best companion". (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2017)

"Stunning with its aromas of blackberry, licorice, smoke, chocolate and leather nuance, the 2009 Rasteau is a blend of Grenache and other grape varieties, aged in a combination of demi-muid, foudre and concrete tank. It has full-bodied power, massive tannins, but remains soft, with richness and great depth. Drink it over the decade or more. (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)
