Domaine Santa Duc
This 6-generation winemaking family has succeeded one another from father to son since 1874 on the Santa Duc estate. Today orchestrated by Benjamin Gras, he took over from his father Yves Gras in 2017 at Gigondas. Planted in a superb setting and overlooked by the sumptuous Dentelles de Montmirail, the Santa Duc estate extends over 21 hectares of organically farmed vines. A worthy representative of the wines of the southern Rhône Valley, Santa Duc is one of the finest in the Gigondas appellation.

Meticulous work and an approach as close to nature as possible are at the heart of Santa Duc 's philosophy: selections massales, biodynamic viticulture, whole harvests, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, minimal intervention, bottling without filtration. An unmissable estate in Gigondas!

"Splendid!"

"A fragrance with notes of blood and a hint of reduction. With its impression of free fruit, you want to drink it on the fruit of its youth, with its fat tannins. Of great purity, it draws its finesse from its sandy Miocene soil. With air, it evolves towards orange. Splendid." (Revue RVF N°656 2021-2022)

"On a great vintage!"

"Unctuous, fresh but ripe, and above all a sensation of "drinkability" for this digestible wine. Beautifully balanced, sapid and lively, despite a hint of prune that comes through." (Revue RVF N°656 - 2021-2022) .

"Great bottle to pave!"

"There's a lovely purity here, displaying blackcurrant core and plum reduction notes, while light licorice, apple wood and red tea notes run along the edges. It has a savory touch on the finish, with a subtle minerality that gives it length." (Wine Spectator 2022)

"A must-see

"This wine has a fun mix of cassis, cherry paste and raspberry coulis, while accents of red licorice, toasted apple wood and tar round things out. Full-bodied and energetic from start to finish. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault." (Wine Spectator 2022)

"Vibrant notes of small berries mark the nose of Côtes du Rhône les Quatre Terres 2019, a blend of Grenache and Syrah from four villages. It's medium to full-bodied, delivering great concentration and a lovely balance between ripeness and acidity, finishing with silky but remarkable tannins. Give it another year, then drink it over the next five years." (Wine Advocate 2020 - Joe Czerwinski) A beautifully crisp Côtes du Rhône sur sables!

" Beautiful finesse and ripeness of berries for this magnificent 2016 vintage , which develops licorice, tobacco and precious wood aromas on the nose. The slightly animal and lively palate is charged with energy and the leathery finish is pleasant and persistent." (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve) Historic parcels of the estate!

"Born of a friendship with Rémy Pédréno, it's easy to sense the elegance he wanted to bring. A Gigondas of purity and distinction. You can taste the grapes, so noble and refined are they". (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2016) To discover!
