Bettane & Desseauve
"On the nose, it's hard to say that this is a schist wine, since we can't go back far enough, but it's certainly not a granite Viognier! Mineral, flinty, with a particularly salty mouthfeel, this is a delicious white for a young vine. And a Seyssuel terroir to follow for white wine production! With an almost tannic signature on the finish." (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve)

Rated wine (guide 2023) 91/100
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the wine:
On the nose, it's hard to say that this is a schist wine, as we don't have enough hindsight. but this is definitely not a granite Viognier! Mineral, flinty, the palate is particularly salty, a delicious white for a young vineyard. And a Seyssuel terroir to follow in white wine production! With an almost tannic tannic signature on the finish.
About the domain :
What a meteoric rise for this new winegrower, who has only been in business since 2009. The constant care he devotes to his different plots and the precise work in the cellar enable him to produce wines in Saint Joseph, Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie that are on the podium of their respective appellations. In 2020, the côte-rôtie fongeant will approach perfection. The challenge for enthusiasts will be to get their hands on a few bottles.

Rated wine (guide 2023) 91/100
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
The whites show great distinction and above all freshness, like Esprit d'Antan.
About the domain :
Created in 2008, this estate has gone from strength to strength. It has gradually expanded without losing its philosophy: to produce wines with identity. In the reds, the proportion of whole grapes varies according to the cuvée. High-quality ageing enhances and refines the wines, without over-pommading them. White wines retain their finesse. The quality and homogeneity of the entire production are remarkable.
