The soils of theIGP des Collines Rhodaniennes is mainly granitic. Their high heat-accumulating capacity contributes to good grape ripening. The climate is semi-continental, with alternating Mediterranean, continental and oceanic influences.
Single-varietal planting is one of the special features of the Collines Rhodaniennes vineyards. Red wines are mainly made from Syrah, Gamay and Merlon. Collines Rhodaniennes red wines are dense and deep, with pronounced mineral notes and red fruit aromas. Rosés are fresh, fruity and well-balanced. Collines Rhodaniennes white wines are made mainly from roussanne, marsanne and viognier grapes. The white wines are pleasantly lively, and stand out for their finesse.
