Château de Ségriès

Château de Ségriès
Visit Château de Ségrièshis family-run winery in the heart of the Lirac appellation d'origine contrôlée is one of the oldest estates in the appellation. This former 17th-century château, owned by Mr Henri de Lanzac since 1995, extends over 30 hectares of vines in a single block on the clay-limestone terroir of the Lirac commune.

Château de Ségriès also owns some 20 hectares of vines in the Tavel appellation, and since 1995 has leased the Clos de l'Hermitage property from Pilote F1 Jean Alési in the Côtes du Rhône appellation, a stone's throw from Avignon.

Château de Ségriès wines are made from very old vines aged between 80 and 100 years. Today, the estate is one of the leading names in its appellation.

Château de Ségriès - Lirac rouge 2022

"All the beauty of Lirac's old vines".

"There's a lot of know-how at this illustrious house in Liraco, as demonstrated by this admirable 2022, which makes the most of a dry vintage thanks to an early harvest in mid-September, followed by ad hoc ageing in vats. Low yields favored a deep, bluish color and fruity, balsamic aromas reminiscent of blackberry syrup, peppermint and juniper berries. Expressive and greedy on the attack, the mid-palate is structured around consistent yet velvety tannins, leaving an irresistible trail of fresh, juicy fruit on the finish. Ideal with roast poultry".
