There is a wealth of expertise in this illustrious Liracoise winery, as evidenced by this admirable 2022 vintage, in which it has made the most of a dry year by harvesting early in mid-September, followed by ad hoc aging in vats. Low yields have enhanced the depth of the color, adorned with bluish highlights, and the aromas, which are fruity and balsamic, evoking blackberry syrup, peppermint, and juniper berries. Expressive and delicious on the attack, the mid-palate is structured around consistent but velvety tannins, leaving an irresistible trail of fresh, juicy fruit on the finish. Enjoy with roast poultry. (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

About the estate:
Henri de Lanzac runs an estate covering nearly 60 hectares, including 30 hectares of vineyards in a single block owned by Ch. de Ségriès (17th century), acquired in 1994 and cultivated organically. He also manages Clos de l'Hermitage (3.5 hectares), owned since 1995 by former racing driver Jean Alesi. Two labels that often feature prominently in the Guide.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 12/11/2024
This Lirac is full-bodied and slightly warm, with a fleshy, intense and freshly balanced palate of stewed fruit (plum, blackberry), complemented by earthy and spicy notes. Soft acidity, great volume and fairly low, almost silky tannins that linger in a savory finish. A relatively simple cuvée. Pairs well with characterful cuisine, such as Camargue bull stew or, more simply, merguez sausages grilled on the barbecue. Rating = 3.9.
