"A subtle Saint-Péray"

Consistently ranked among the best white wines from the northern Rhône, Saint-Péray Les Pins 2023 is composed of 70% Marsanne and 30% Roussanne. It has a clean, vibrant bouquet of honeyed stone fruits, fresh melon, sappy flowers, and crushed stone. The result is a medium-bodied, perfectly balanced, supple, and undeniably delicious wine that enthusiasts should snap up. This wine is ideal for the next three years, but it can age longer if you wish." (Jeb Dunnuck 2025)

About wine:

This wine has the classic fullness and generosity of St-Péray, as well as lively acidity and a sandy mineral note. Balanced and refined, it has good length.

Rated estate (2024 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the estate:

The Gripa family arrived in Saint-Péray in the 17th century, then settled in Mauves around 1850. A sure bet in the northern Rhône Valley, both for its Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph wines (as evidenced by the numerous Favorites in both appellations), the estate has been run since 2001 by Fabrice Gripa, son of Bernard, who now manages 18 hectares of vineyards.

Wine rating (2025 guide) 92/100 (Outstanding wine)

About wine:

The Saint-Péray Les Pins 2023 reveals a disarming purity of fruit, evoking aromas of pear, almond, spring flowers, and spring blossoms. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, harmonious and round, it is charming and enveloping, with lively acidity and a delicious finish. It is a blend of 70% Marsanne and 30% Roussanne, planted on clay-limestone and granite soils.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 92/100

Rated estate (2024 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

Fabrice Gripa continues his father's work in the Mauves estate, which produces as many white wines as reds. He is a master of his craft, producing a range of wines with strong personalities. The whites are represented by four cuvées: two Saint-Péray and two Saint-Joseph. The reds are fruit-forward, with integrity and admirable aging. A consistent estate producing wines of very high quality.

About wine:

Pure and precise, with a fruity aroma. Peach and pear bouquet. Smooth and generous on the palate but restrained, with a tangy freshness on the finish. Beautiful persistence. Already a delight.

About wine:

The Saint-Péray Les Pins 2023 displays pronounced notes of honeysuckle, lime blossom, and lemon flesh, as well as a hint of yellow apple. Medium-bodied, round, and refreshing, the 2023 is a Saint-Péray with sharp edges that finishes with a slice of fresh pear in an elegant finish. It is best enjoyed while young.
