Stéphane Usseglio
Continuing the work done at Domaine Usseglio in the southern Rhône Valley, Stéphane Usseglio's wines, made from purchased grapes, benefit from the winemaking expertise already acquired. He takes just as much care with his selections for the trade, favoring old vines, integrated viticulture and low yields. The plots of Grenache Noir, Syrah and Mourvèdre are located on clay-limestone terroirs on the heights of the Ventoux.

"A unique vintage that's a must-try!

"Oxymore 2019 is a collaboration between Thomas Farge and Stéphane Usseglio. It is a blend of 65% Syrah from old vines in the northern Rhône, 30% Grenache and 5% Counoise. It has a deep purple/ruby hue, with notes of red and black fruits, game, ground pepper and violets. This marvel attacks the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a fluid, elegant texture and ultra-fine tannins. While the Syrah is at the forefront on the nose, the Grenache is more apparent on the palate, and this is a simply elegant, seamless and undeniably delicious wine in the making. Enjoy over the next 7-8 years." (Jeb Dunnuck 2020)

"A fine effort from the estate's vines, the 2017 Lirac Charles 1er profiles with charming aromas of raspberry and strawberry. It's full-bodied and silky, with notes of licorice, dried spice and black cherry on the palate, then firms on the finish, enough to thinkit'll still be good 10 years from now." "A very good value to buy by the case!"

"Made from a small parcel of old vines, the 2016 Ventoux is a tremendous success. Aged in concrete tanks, it has a rich, concentrated, velvety texture and ripe aromas of plum and stone fruit. The finish is long and tinged with garrigue. A very good value to buy by the case." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)
