About the wine:
Under a garnet-red color with ruby highlights, this 2018 reveals notes of raspberry liqueur, spices and garrigue. The elegant mouthfeel, roundness, richness and finesse of the tannins are accompanied by the persistent interplay of blackberry and blackcurrant aromas.
About the domain :
Patrick Saurel has been busy since 1996. Coming from a business background, he has pushed his passion for the vine to the limit: restructuring and expanding the estate, creating a new winery, inaugurating a wine museum, using sustainable viticulture methods... Today, his estate covers 30 hectares and is in the process of converting to organic farming.

Aromatic and seductive. Fruit and concentration without excessive alcohol.

Undoubtedly, the least we can say is that this Astre Rouge is imposing, shining through its opulence and corpulence. Straightforward from the outset, the wine bursts into a seductive mouthfeel with its solid tannic structure releasing strongly acidic black fruit aromas (blackcurrant, blackberry, cooked prune), contrasted by notes of spice and violet. Sustained liveliness carries through to the finish for a touch of freshness. Rated 4.2. This cuvée, designed for lovers of wines with a strong southern character, is best served with gamey dishes, or even a local dish such as févolade, especially as this is the peak season for fresh fava beans.
