In the 13th century, Arnaud de Villeneuve, a physician and philosopher by profession, learned the distillation process during his travels in the East and discovered through his research the benefits of "blending grape juice with its brandy." His work led him to understand the mutage process, used in particular to produce Rivesaltes, a renowned natural sweet wine. By naming it Arnaud de VilleneuveThe Cooperative Winery wanted to pay tribute to him in this way.

Arnaud de Villeneuve is a cooperative winery founded in 1909, then under the name Salses le Château. Today, it has nearly 300 cooperative winegrowers, all of whom work in accordance with sustainable development specifications. 
The 2,000 hectares of vineyards enable the winery to produce Arnaud de Villeneuve to offer a wide range of wines from the region: Côtes du Roussillon, Muscat de Rivesaltes, Vins de Pays...
