Domaine Louis Magnin - Roussette de Savoie 2012
14,5/20
Bettane & Desseauve
"Easygoing and lively, this is a rich white wine with tension and a nice crispness on the finish." (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2015). An elegant expression with delicate floral notes on the nose, intense, dense and sapid on the palate with good length, carried by a salty minerality. A great success!

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2015 guide) 14,5/20 (Good wine)
Rated estate (2023 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About wine:
Easygoing and lively, this is a rich white wine with tension and a nice crispness on the finish.
About the estate:
The Magnin couple are among the iconic figures of the Savoyard wine region. These two passionate winegrowers, who have been working organically since 2012, decided to reduce the estate to three hectares starting with the 2018 harvest. The range is certainly small, but both the white and red wines are truly beautiful.

Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
This artisanal estate has played a key role in the contemporary history of Savoyard winegrowing. Although the area under cultivation has decreased, meticulous work in both the vineyard and the cellar has enabled Louis Magnin to achieve excellence in both red and white wines. A perfectionist, he demonstrates a consistency across his different vintages that few producers in this region can match. Less opulent than in the past, the whites favor mineral intensity. Among the flamboyant Mondeuses, which are intended for aging, we continue to prefer (often, but not this year!) the vintages aged in vats to those aged in barrels.
