Château les Croisille
The adventure of Croisille family began in 1979 when Cécile and Bernard rented an abandoned property on the Causses de Luzech. They cleared the land and brought it back to life, gradually developing parcels where Malbec is king. Their son Germain joined them in 2008, followed by Nicolas, his childhood friend, in 2010, and finally Simon, the last of the family, who will join the team in 2015. Today, the Château Croisille owns 30 hectares of vines, and the young generation, passionate about wine, is bringing a new vision to viticulture, as well as new ambitions for the estate's wines. Certified organic since 2013, the domaine proposes a new way of thinking about wine: vinifying by Terroir and understanding the richness of this great diversity of limestone soils to get a little closer to the purity of great wines. Les Croisille are updating the style of Cahors wines, where finesse, freshness and digestibility are the watchwords.

"A Cahors of terroir with finesse and freshness".

A full-bodied, complex cuvée typical of Malbec, with a charming balance between power and freshness, enhanced by a touch of acidity typical of the limestone terroir.

"A juicy pleasure wine that retains the lovely skin tannin typical of Malbec".

"Le Croizillon opens the tasting of reds with its dapper, floral Malbec". (Le Guide RVF 2024). Blind tasting, it's impossible to tell that this Malbec is a Cahors. And yet it is! At last, a superb, fruity Cahors, light and easy to digest. The choice of terroirs here highlights the potential for this new-generation Cahors.

"A lovely cuvée, aged for 18 months in oak barrels, with delicious aromas of stewed red fruit, raisins, kirch and hints of balsamic. Full-bodied, rich and full-bodied on the palate, with firm, long-keeping tannins. A bottle of character that would go well with spicy cuisine". (Le Guide Hachette 2024). An exceptional Cahors!
