Château Montauriol
Since 1998, the Château Montauriol is one of Nicolas Gélis's châteaux in Fronton. This priopriété, which covers almost 60 hectares of vines, is divided into three islets: one on the plain with clay soils, another on a hilly ridge with clay gravel and deep pebbles, and a further ten hectares in the Villaudric area with deep soils.

Château Montauriol produces the main grape varieties of the Fronton appellation: Négrette, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Côt (Malbec) and Gamay.

3.5/5 (2 reviews)

L'Original 2015 is round on the palate, with notes of orange and ripe cherry, supported by a fine tannic structure. A touch of licorice on the finish gives a very pleasant sensation of freshness. Great value for money!

(2014 vintage notes)

Mont Aureolus is a complex, powerful and well-balanced wine, made from the best plots on a gravelly hilltop. The blend of Negrette and Syrah expresses itself between fruit and racy character, all with finesse.
