Château Montus 2020 offers delicious aromas of black fruits (blackberry, blueberry, blackcurrant) that are both crisp and jammy, with notes of spice (black pepper) and flowers (violet). The same aromatic profile found on the nose is present on the palate, with a velvety, enveloping texture and well-integrated tannins.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2023 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
Alain Brumont develops his personality through a style that has made Madiran wines famous throughout the world under the Château Montus label, which he bought in 1980. Often bucking conventional wisdom, Brumont's vintages reflect his great freedom in interpreting terroirs with yellow and red clay subsoils, ranging from 20 to 40%. Tannat is featured in the château's three wines, Prestige, XL, Montus and La Tyre, and certainly delivers the most spectacular profile of this difficult-to-handle Pyrenean grape.
