"Aged in wooden tuns for eighteen months, this deep garnet-red wine has an intense, greedy nose, opening with black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry) enhanced by spices. The blackcurrant asserts itself on the palate, which is supple on the attack, affable and sufficiently full-bodied. Pleasant and typical, a beautifully crafted bottle". Domaine du Cros
Marcillac
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 14.5/20 (Good wine)
Domaine rated 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the wine:
Lovely saline, floral, raspberry and pepper notes introduce a fresh, gourmet wine that's perfectly ready to drink.
About the domain :
Philippe Teulier has developed the family estate well. When he started in 1984, he began with just one hectare. Over time, and with a great deal of patience, he gradually succeeded in buying up plots of land from his neighbors, sometimes cultivated, sometimes fallow, and then putting them back on their feet, to arrive today at 60 hectares of land, including 33 hectares of vines, most of which are terraced, offering splendid views of the surrounding countryside. The red color of the soil creates a striking contrast with the green of the vegetation, ranging from limestone to red sandstone. As for the winery, originally built to vinify 2 hectares, it has followed in the footsteps of the vines and is now organized as a cascade of levels descending the hill, all the while blending in perfectly with nature. Inside, everything is naturally gravity-fed. Little interventionists, Philippe and his son Julien prefer to encourage rather than intervene, a philosophy that works well. The attractive range is an ode to Fer Servadou, the local grape variety, also known as Mansois in Aveyron or Braucol in Gaillac.

About the wine:
Aged in wooden casks for eighteen months, this deep garnet-red wine has an intense, mouth-watering nose, opening with black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry) enhanced by spices. The blackcurrant asserts itself on a palate that is supple on the attack, affable and sufficiently full-bodied. Pleasant and typical, a beautifully crafted bottle.
About the domain :
When it was founded in 1984, this emblematic AOC Marcillac estate had just one hectare of vines and produced around 4,000 bottles a year; it now covers 33 hectares. The estate is run by Philippe Teulier, assisted since 2006 by his son Julien. A sure bet.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 15.5/20 + Coup de Coeur (Good wine)
Domaine noté (guide 2020) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the wine:
Subtle fragrances of citron wood, delicacy and roundness in a balance that respects the taster, the grape and the soil.
About the domain :
Philippe Teulier is Marcillac's "boss". The driving force behind the appellation, he drags in his wake the Aveyron producers proud of this particular grape, mansois (or fer servadou). Julien, his son, is at the helm of the estate with him. The fluidity of their blends stems from a perfect mastery of the particular qualities of their vineyards, terraced in the Marcillac valley, a terroir likened to a mountain because of the hot days and cool nights of autumn. Their three main cuvées are a tribute to the wines of the South-West.
