Drink or Keep
The dry white Cuvée Torus is made from a selection of vines less than 15 years old, on the finest terroirs of Montus and Bouscassé, displaying a pedigree of great quality. A wine of great freshness, with notes of citrus fruit (lemon, orange...) and vivacity. An immediate pleasure!

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Domain rated (guide 2023) Selected (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the domains that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
Alain Brumont develops his personality through a style that takes wines from Madiran around the world under the label of Château Montus, which he bought in 1980. Brumont's cuvées often go against conventional wisdom, demonstrating his freedom in interpreting the terroirs' yellow and red clay subsoils, with gradients ranging from 20 to 40%. Tannat expresses itself in the château's three cuvées, Prestige, XL, Montus and La Tyre, and certainly delivers the most spectacular profile of this not-easy-to-handle Pyrenean grape.

In absolute terms, probably not a 4/5, but it's not bad value for money! Tasted with friends as an aperitif, everyone loved it. Pretty white fruits, a nice liveliness, not too dry, I think it's perfect for this moment of the day. It should go well with cheeses that are not too advanced...
