"the dark red-colored Cornalin de Fully 2018 opens with an intense, concentrated, perfectly ripe background, a pure, floral nose with spicy cigar box and licorice aromas as well as hints of black berries, cherries and nougat. [...] This red wine from the Alps has intense, long-lasting fruity aromas, but also floral aromas and a unique freshness and vitality that come from both the land and the climate. This is an extraordinary alpine red with fine bitters and great ageing potential." (Wine Advocate 2021)

About the wine:
From the silty, sandy soils overlying the gneiss of the Follatères and Ly Tatzes localities and the whole of Combe d'Enfer (which normally makes its own cuvée), the dark-red 2018 Cornalin de Fully opens with an intense, concentrated, perfectly ripe base, a pure, floral nose with aromas of spicy cigar box and licorice as well as hints of black berries, cherries and nougat. Fermented in whole bunches and aged in 500- and 1,200-liter used oak vats for 15 to 18 months, this very low-yield biannual red is fascinatingly pure, fresh, elegant and silky-textured. This red wine from the Alps has intense, long-lasting fruity aromas, as well as floral aromas and a unique freshness and vitality that come from both land and climate. It's an extraordinary alpine red with fine bitters and great ageing potential. Tasted in March 2021.

Note and review by M. DIDIER P. Published on 11/10/2022
A Valaisan perfection, a little-known region. Oily, shiny but very dark. The opposite of translucent! Mineral nose with a hint of barrel and vegetal notes. Finally, a hint of wild fruit (blueberry). On the palate, the first impression is of a well-concentrated Syrah. Tastes of vegetal and wild berries, with a subtle hint of pepper. Very interesting, deserves a powerful meat like a Saint Joseph or even an Hermitage. Excellent
