Remhoogte Wine Estate
Created in 1812, Remhoogte Estate was acquired in 1994 by Murray and Juliet Boustred. This 60-hectare estate, located on the south-western slopes of Simonberg near Stellenbosch, is planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Pinotage.

Following the buyout, the owners made major investments, including restoration of the buildings, construction of a new winery and installation of new equipment. It was at this point that Dany and Michel Rolland became involved. In 2001, they signed a partnership agreement with Remhoogte Estate to contribute their expertise in vineyard management and blending.

The Remhoogte Estate terroir enjoys ideal climatic conditions for the production of red wines. Its special feature: the wild animals that watch over the vineyard.

90/100 Robert Parker

"Bonne Nouvelle 2006 is the first vintage to be fermented in open 500-liter barrels. It has a ripe, well-defined bouquet of macerated black cherries, licorice, with a touch of soy and a hint of mint. The palate is well balanced with fine tannins, a little spicier than previous vintages, with hints of soy and bacon towards the finish. Well worth seeking out." (Wine Advocate 2011 - Robert Parker)
