"A 'terrific wine' according to the critics, lively and harmonious!"

"Hereafter Here 2022 is a blend of young and old vines due to higher yields this year, pressed in whole bunches with 18 months of ageing, two-thirds on the lees. The well-defined bouquet features aromas of yellow plum, orange blossom, Japanese yuzu and crushed stone. The palate is very harmonious, with a lively line of acidity. A linear, almost Zen-like, razor-sharp Chenin that shows plenty of nerve on the finish. Superb. 2024-2034" (Vinous 2023)

Robert Parker - Wine Advocate

Rated (guide 2023) 92/100 (Wonderful wine)

About the wine:

2022 Hereafter Here is made from 100% Chenin Blanc. The nose is zesty, bright and fresh, with notes of lemon oil and dusty citrus blossom. Medium-bodied and 13% alcohol, the palate has energetic acidity and succulent mineral tension, before displaying a hint of phenolic bitterness. The wine continues to unfold, revealing additional layers of complexity on the long, lingering, food-friendly finish. Just over 32,000 bottles were produced from chenin blanc aged in a mix of old foudres, cement vats and old barrels. 2024-2032

About the wine:

This wine is so fresh and mineral that it reveals aromas of sliced apples, wet stones, grapefruit and wild thyme. Medium-bodied, bright and tight. Excellent structure and concentration. 100% chenin. For drinking or cellaring.

About the wine:

Herafter Here is Chris Alheit's largest production of Chenin Blanc, made from five different plots in Stellenbosch and Swartland. The vines are mostly young, resulting in a relatively immediate wine, with a lovely interplay of peach and green apple, and impressive brightness for a 2022 vintage.
