Splendid persistence.","About the domain :","Since arriving at the family estate nearly 20 vintages ago, Jean Boxler has slowly fine-tuned the winemaking process, and today is on a par with Alsace's elite. The vines are splendidly situated, firstly on the Sommerberg, where Jean has a large parcel of land, and secondly on the Brand, two terroirs that shine for Riesling, the estate's main grape variety. The viticulture is demanding and meticulous, the ageing adapted to the wines and vintages, here no false note, whatever the grape variety, even the most modest sylvaner or pinot blanc (but the latter comes from the Brand). Superb success for the 2016s, with wines a little less dense than 2015 but which will age to perfection. 2017 saw the sylvaners, pinots blancs, muscats and, of course, rieslings stand out in the range.
