Domaine Ostertag
Domaine Ostertag has reached a level of excellence achieved in particular by converting the vineyard to biodynamic viticulture in 1998, giving priority to hand work and banning all chemical fertilizers, weedkillers and insecticides. Today, Domaine Ostertag is one of the spearheads of Alsace wines.

Domaine Ostertag - Alsace Gewurztraminer Fronholz Vendanges Tardives 2018
93/100 RVF
"Tastes of honey candy and fir buds in the Vendanges Tardives, with very defined pure flavors, which should be left to age so that its abundant sugars melt away." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2022 - RVF)
Domaine Ostertag - Alsace Gewurztraminer Fronholz À l'Orient d'Eden 2020 (moelleux)
95/100 James Suckling
Somewhere between the luxuriance of the Garden of Eden and oriental voluptuousness, Gewurztraminer Fronholz is a mellow wine where the greed of the fruit is toned by the saline precision of the terroir. This minerality softens the sweetness of the wine, making it ideal for surprising gastronomic pairings.

Domaine Ostertag - Pinot Gris Les Jardins 2018 (sec)
4.2/5 (10 reviews)
16,5/20 Bettane & Desseauve
Pinot Gris Les Jardins has remarkable freshness and aromatic intensity. The nose gives off floral, slightly smoky and fruity aromas of ripe yellow fruit, citrus and honey. The palate, a perfect combination of terroir and ageing, produces a wine with a dry, fat balance uncommon in the region. Minerality and fruit are the order of the day!
Domaine Ostertag - Muscat Fronholz 2018 (sec)
4.2/5 (5 reviews)
Planted on the western flank of the Fronholz on the very day man first walked on the moon (1969), Muscat here reveals a refined nose of orange blossom and citrus fruit. The mouth, long and saline, illustrates the airy, salivating grace of this cuvée. A true pleasure wine, greedy and dry!
Domaine Ostertag - Gewurztraminer Les Jardins Vendanges Tardives 2017
16/20 Bettane & Desseauve
Concentrated and syrupy, powerful and rich perfectly describe this Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives. An ephemeral cuvee, the 2017 vintage was perfect for developing botrytis and producing an exceptional sweet wine. A rare wine!

Domaine Ostertag - Alsace Zellberg Pinot Gris 2017
4.4/5 (5 reviews)
18,5/20 RVF
-
17/20 Bettane & Desseauve
-
93/100 Robert Parker
A major cuvée for Domaine Ostertag, Zellberg Pinot Gris seduces with its complexity, freshness and fine aromas. On the palate, it's an explosion of white and yellow fruit flavors (mirabelle plum, apple, quince), fleshy, with a long finish that ends on a saline note. In its youth, this wine will mellow with age.
Domaine Ostertag - Riesling Fronholz 2017
4.4/5 (8 reviews)
18/20 RVF
-
16/20 Bettane & Desseauve
-
91/100 Robert Parker
This beautiful cuvée offers a classic expression of great Riesling, with a fine, precise and very elegant wine. The distinctive feature of Fronholz is its salty finish, due to the many mineral salts in the soil. This great salinity makes it ideal for a wide range of gastronomic pairings, as it salivates, invigorates the palate and whets the appetite. Discover it for yourself!

This Sylvaner Vieilles Vignes surprises with its perfect balance between tension, characteristic of the grape variety, and elegance and finesse. Notes of exotic fruit, apples and white flowers transport us to the orchards of Alsace. A truly gourmet Sylvaner.
Domaine Ostertag - Gewurztraminer Fronholz 2015
4/5 (2 reviews)
16,5/20 Bettane & Desseauve
-
92/100 Wine Enthusiast
Unable to call this cuvée "Vendanges Tardives" (for 1/10th of a degree!), the Fronholz 2015 Gewurztraminer nevertheless has all the hallmarks of a great Vendange Tardive: aromatic concentration, gourmandise, sapidity with that saline, airy finish that characterizes this terroir. Delicious!
Domaine Ostertag - Pinot Gris Fronholz 2015
4.2/5 (4 reviews)
16/20 Bettane & Desseauve
-
93/100 Wine Enthusiast
Here, the Fronholz imposes its frank, dry character on the Pinot Gris, contrasting with a taut mineral structure and the marine, iodine notes so characteristic of this great terroir. A great wine with an assertive personality!
Domaine Ostertag - Riesling Muenchberg Grand Cru 2014
4.8/5 (10 reviews)
95/100 Robert Parker
-
18,5/20 RVF
-
17,5/20 Bettane & Desseauve
This Grand Cru is a Riesling of incomparable nobility and length. Here, the balance on the palate is due to the perfect complementarity of sandstone and volcano: the sensual, feminine sandstone ensures a charming entry, while the primitive, masculine, fiery volcano allows the wine to stretch to that fine, interminable, almost salty finish so characteristic of Muenchberg. Divine!
