"We're biting into the grapes!

Domaine Wach offers us an intense dry Musact with aromatic notes of apricot, white peach and jasmine flowers. The taut finish is impressively long.

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

Returning to the family estate in 2017, Pierre Wach chose to rename it after himself, debaptising the former Domaine des Marronniers. He has converted the vines to organic farming, and above all has evolved the style of the wines. His father Guy had a taste for sweeter wines, which didn't always convince us in the past. A change of era, a change of generation - our tasting this year convinced us!

Guide Hachette des vins

Domaine noté Award-winning wines (Wines from this producer regularly win awards in the guide)

About the domain :

Guy Wach settled in 1976 in Andlau, a former wine-growing commune along a narrow valley, and is heir to a line of coopers, then winegrowers, dating back to 1748. In 2017, he passed on the family estate (8 ha) to his son Pierre, which includes plots in the commune's three Grand Crus, which are ideal for Riesling. The approach, which is already largely organic, should enable the estate to be converted in the near future.

About the domain :

Pierre Wach represents the new generation at the helm of the family estate since 2015. He first set in motion the changes in the vineyard, with Ecocert organic certification effective from the 2022 vintage, then in the cellar, launching trials of pinot noir without sulfur and without deviance. A new impetus has been given, but a few minor adjustments are needed in the cellar to preserve all the precision and freshness of the flavors.
