Note : Guide Hachette 2**(Remarkable wine) + Coup de Coeur
"Christophe Cordier is just as talented when it comes to Gamay, as witnessed by this 2012, which delighted the grand jury with its intense, brilliant garnet-red color. The nose releases powerful notes of blackcurrant and spices. Round and ample on the palate, with aromas of black fruit and vanilla. Harmonious and highly concentrated, this Beaujolais-Villages can be laid down for several years, and would be wonderful with roast chicken". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2014)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2016 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

Christophe Cordier is always on the move, his businesses always expanding, both the family estate and the trading business. In both cases, he has invested in technical facilities of a rare level in the region, at the cutting edge of oenological progress. The approach to each parcel of land is precise and the ageing techniques are diversified, but the sometimes excessive woodiness still masks the expression of certain cuvées.

Guide Hachette des vins

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine rated (2014 guide) 2**Stars (Outstanding wine)

About the wine:

Christophe Cordier is known for his white mâcon and pouilly-fuissé wines. This Chardonnay expert has now embarked on a trading venture to develop a range of red wines. He is just as talented with Gamay, as witnessed by this 2012, which delighted the grand jury with its intense, brilliant garnet-red color. The nose releases powerful notes of blackcurrant and spices. Round and ample on the palate, with aromas of black fruit and vanilla. Harmonious and highly concentrated, this Beaujolais-Villages can be laid down for several years, and would be wonderful with roast chicken.

Estate rated (2015 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the domain :

Founded in 1945, Domaine Cordier was taken over by Roger Cordier in 1971. The arrival of his son Christophe just over five years ago has not changed the exemplary style of the wines. The estate has remained at the top for many years.
