"The astonishing nose of black cherries and summer flowers draws you into this ripe, well-structured yet delicate, medium-bodied to full-bodied Fleurie. The waves of minerality on the finish, very long and elegant, make this wine truly stand out in the context of an appellation whose wines are often just pretty." (James Suckling 2024)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2023 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Originally from Bresse, Anita Khunel, after a brilliant career as a road cyclist (she competed in the World Championships in Slovenia in 1996!), decided to return to the family estate that same year. She learned the trade of viticulture and winemaking before creating her own winery in 2015: Domaine Anita. Today, the estate encompasses six appellations: Moulin-à-Vent, Chénas, Morgon, Fleurie, Beaujolais, and Beaujolais-Villages. Known for her structured style, Anita Kuhnel gains in precision and balance every year. 2017 is a great success. We are not far from the third star!

The surprising nose of black cherries and summer flowers draws you into this ripe, well-structured yet delicate, medium-bodied to full-bodied Fleurie. The waves of minerality on the finish, very long and elegant, really set this wine apart in the context of an appellation whose wines are often just pretty.
