Domaine Anita
DOMAINE ANITA is a recent addition to the Beaujolais vineyards. Anita KUHNEL set up her own operation in 2015 after 15 years on the family estate. The Domaine, located in Chénas, produces 6 appellations (Moulin à Vent, Morgon, Chénas, Fleurie, Beaujolais and Beaujolais-Villages) each located on exceptional terroirs. Domaine Anita's viticulture respects the codes the codes of sustainable agriculture implemented on each parcel. On granitic soils, where Gamay finds its preferred soil, DOMAINE ANITA has chosen to maintain a high planting density to optimize grape quality: small berries, thick skins small berries, thick skins, rich pulp.

From the outset, Anita, who is passionate about winemaking, has focused on the development of parcel-based cuvées. From harvest to bottling, the identity of each parcel is respected, offering diversity diversity to each of them. The famous Moulin à Vent "Reine de Nuit" was a forerunner in this concept: a small parcel, a real gem, was the first to receive special attention to reveal the extraordinary potential of its terroir. In 2013, we began experimenting with de-stemmed vinification, with breathtaking results, giving birth to the Moulin à Vent cuvée "Coeur de Vigneronne".

"The ideal companion for dinners with friends!

"This Chenas has a deep red fruit character on the medium-bodied palate that could be described as charming, but then kicks into high gear as the fine tannins develop steadily, with notes of licorice and dry earth that add good complexity to the precise finish." (James Suckling 2024)

"An extraordinary Beaujolais-Villages (Suckling)".

"An extraordinary Beaujolais-Villages and an extraordinary 2023 with a root that has to be tasted to be believed. That and the eruption of stony minerality on the extremely concentrated palate make this a breathtaking Beaujolais. The only slight problem is that you have to love acidity, as the finish is undulating." (James Suckling 2024).

"The most feminine of the crus, distinguished by its floral aromas!"

"The stunning nose of black cherries and summer flowers draws you into this ripe, well-structured yet filigree, medium to full-bodied Fleurie. The waves of minerality on the finish, very long and elegant, make this wine really stand out in the context of an appellation whose wines are often just pretty." (James Suckling 2024)

"An intense cuvée from the estate's oldest vines".

"A stunning Chenas with a wonderful combination of concentrated black cherry and forest berry fruit, fine tannins and excellent freshness for this hot, dry vintage. The finish is very long and compact, with a hint of stony minerality enhancing this medium-bodied wine." (James Suckling 2024)

"Stunning!"

"Stunning nose of ripe blackberries, black cherries and smoke, with just a touch of balsamic vinegar. Ripe and firm with a ton of crushed-stone minerality. Very radical, but in the best possible way! All this needs a little time in bottle to patinate the fine tannins and lively acidity. Great ageing potential! Drink now, but best from 2024". (James Suckling 2022). The small bunches picked on this parcel have produced a cuvée a cuvée worthy of the greatest.

"Stunning!"

"The breathtaking nose of black cherry and spice might knock you back in your chair for a moment, but that's how this magnificent Beaujolais presents itself. Excellent concentration and balance between freshness and spicy depth, beautifully integrated, fine tannins and a long finish that displays a beautiful marriage of bitter chocolate and minerality. Drink now or cellar" (James Suckling 2021). Wow, what a wine!
