Château Montfollet - Icône blanc 2019
Médaille d'Or
Concours Lyon
This 100% Sauvignon, vinified and aged in new barrels, is the ideal wine for sharing. A complex nose of citrus and woody notes continues with a beautiful minerality and richness on the palate. It is the perfect accompaniment to a cold fish terrine, for example.

Bettane & Desseauve
Winery rated 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
The 67 hectares of vineyards on this family estate overlook the Gironde estuary, directly opposite the most prestigious Margaux wines. Keen to reveal the potential of these magnificent terroirs while respecting the environment, Dominique Raimond uses every means of cultivation and vinification to produce a great Blayais wine. The whites are generally very aromatic, with good tension and a good balance of freshness. The Côtes-de-Bourg Cuvée Altus is always top-notch, as is the grand vin in Blaye-Côtes-de-Bordeaux. A flagship property in both appellations. Montfollet is part of the Châteaux Solidaires association, which brings together ten Blaye winegrowers who retain their own identity while sharing cellars and tools in a spirit of cooperation. Château Haut-Prieur is part of this association and is superb in the 2016 vintage.
