"Very pleasant with ripe citrus and stone fruit character!"
"The nose is spicy and waxy, with notes of lemon peel, crushed herbs, peach pits and raw almonds. The palate is medium-bodied, dense and structured, with ripe citrus and stone fruit character. A little tannic and firm on the finish. Drink now. (James Suckling 2024) - The Sauvignon and Sémillon grapes on this terroir deliver a most gourmet expression. This Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux blanc offers roundness and aromatic complexity.

Château Montfollet
Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
The 67 hectares of vines on this family estate overlook the Gironde estuary, just opposite the most prestigious Margaux crus. Concerned with revealing the potential of these magnificent terroirs while respecting the environment, Dominique Raimond uses every means of cultivation and vinification to achieve the production of a great Blayais wine. The whites are generally highly aromatic, with good tension and just the right balance of freshness. The Côtes-de-Bourg Cuvée Altus is always top-notch, as is the Grand Vin en Blaye-Côtes-de-Bordeaux. A flagship property in both appellations. Montfollet is a member of the Châteaux Solidaires association, which groups together ten Blayais winegrowers who retain their own identity while sharing cellars and working tools in a cooperative spirit. Château Haut-Prieur, part of this association, is superb in the 2016 vintage.
