"A cuvée of character that demonstrates the exemplary consistency of this vintage. The nose is exuberant, very floral, mentholated and fruity, and the palate is full-bodied, complete, with deep tannins, plenty of freshness and length". (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve) What a superb Bordeaux Supérieur! A must for your cellar.

Rated 14.5/20 (Good wine)
Domaine rated (2022 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the wine:
A cuvée of character that demonstrates the exemplary regularity of this vintage. The nose is exuberant, very floral, mentholated and fruity, and the palate is full-bodied, complete, with deep tannins, plenty of freshness and length.
About the domain :
For the past half-decade, this Entre-Deux-Mers cru has been seducing visitors with its generous wines, expressive fruitiness and toasty woodiness.

Rated (guide 2021) 15/20 (Good wine)
Domaine rated (2022 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Good volume, particular concentration of fruit. The tannins are tight, sharp and restrained. We like the frankness and, above all, the charming fruit.
About the domain :
From his family's right-bank vineyard in Vérac, near Fronsac, Hervé Lhuillier has created a true brand of Bordeaux Supérieur, whose fundamentals are depth, authenticity and careful oakiness. New vines of Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot, planted on outcropping limestone (the quarries are open to visitors), will soon go into production. While the densimetric sorting machine has brought greater precision to 2018, we're still thirsty about the somewhat cartoonish extractions and ageing. Let's give the wines time to settle before considering removing the star.

About the wine:
Big, ripe and delicious, this is already a well-balanced wine. Juicy black fruits give the wine density and a fragrant character, with both spiciness and generous berry flavors. Drink now.

A simple Bordeaux wine, supple and pleasant, but nothing more. A Bordeaux that deserves a 3.5/5 rating in my book.

Excellent value for money for this Bordeaux. I'm more into Burgundy and Rhône wines. I must say it's a jewel, a wine full of personality and finesse. Woody, toasty notes and hints of red fruit. I've been ordering it every year for 3 years now, and it's always a joy to taste.

Deceptively little concentration, a very ordinary Bordeaux wine.
