Wine rated (2023 guide) 90/100
Domaine rated (2022 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
From his family's right-bank vineyard in Vérac, near Fronsac, Hervé Lhuillier has created a true brand of Bordeaux Supérieur, whose fundamentals are depth, authenticity and careful oakiness. New vines of Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot, planted on outcropping limestone (the quarries are open to visitors), will soon go into production. While the densimetric sorting machine has brought greater precision to 2018, we're still thirsty about the somewhat cartoonish extractions and ageing. Let's give the wines time to settle before considering removing the star.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 89/100
About the wine:
A well-balanced wine. The tannins are still firm, but the black fruit and acidity are well present. A solid wine that will evolve slowly but surely. Drink from 2024.

About the wine:
30ha vineyard on clay-limestone soil. The average age of the vines is 30 years. Combining freshness, fruit and finesse, Fleur Haut Gaussens has it all! Its linear character, its inviting bouquet with its subtlety and nuances of red berries and its harmonious palate. A slender, refreshing wine to be enjoyed in its youth. 2023-2028
Tastingbook - Markus Del Monego
Wine rated (2022 guide) 89/100
About the wine:
Deep crimson red with violet highlights and a black heart. Aromatic nose reminiscent of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, sweet cherry and sloe, with fleshy notes in the background. Complemented by notes of vanilla, sweet spices and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is well-balanced with freshness, juiciness, ripe tannins and light acidity, medium-bodied with good length.

A modern Bordeaux that's not lacking in assets: solid constitution, generous, perfumed material (macerated red and black fruits, spices and earthy notes), woodiness without excess, all at an attractive price. Weak points: firm, slightly clinging tannins and a long finish marked, however, by a hint of acidity that may fade with time. This pleasant everyday Bordeaux par excellence was opened now for its freshness with roast fillet of beef with bundles of barded green beans. Score = 3.8.

Nice wine, pleasant to drink, to share with friends. Lacks substance, chewiness and depth on the palate. Deserves to be tasted later.
