"A gourmet wine with ripe fruit aromas. The wood tannins add density and structure on the palate, enriching it with spicy notes and exotic accents. A period in a carafe will be welcome if this wine is to be appreciated in its younger years". (Guide Hachette Edition 2021)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2019 guide) 90/100
Estate rated (2016 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
Excellent ripe fruit, harmonious and generous roundness, perfect balance with a fresh finish.
About the domain :
The Despagne family has five estates and 300 hectares of vines, planted with traditional Bordeaux grape varieties. The seriousness, inventiveness and skill of the Despagne family mean that all their wines, and in particular those from their flagship estates, Tour de Mirambeau and Rauzan Despagne, could serve as a model for many a Bordeaux: always flattering, but never far from Bordeaux classicism.

About the wine:
A gourmet wine with aromas of ripe fruit. The wood tannins add density and structure to the palate, enriching it with spicy notes and exotic accents. If you wish to appreciate this wine in its early years, it will benefit from decanting.
About the domain :
A former fortified place, remodeled in the 19th century, which commands a vast 100-hectare vineyard acquired in 1998 by the Despagne family (Rauzan Despagne, Bel Air Perponcher, Tour de Mirambeau, Lion Beaulieu). A regular vintage in terms of quality, and highly reputed in China ever since the wine was compared to a Freddie Mercury concert in the famous manga Les Gouttes de Dieu.
