RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Estate rated (2014 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
"The Thienpont family, who have owned the estate since 1946, have revived the Côtes de Francs appellation with this first-rate cru since 1983. Nicolas Thienpont, who is also responsible for a premier cru classé in Saint-Emilion, produces a full-bodied, generous wine, with controlled oak, designed for honest cellaring (five to ten years). The estate is regular and the vintages of good quality. In homage to his father George, Nicolas Thienpont has created a cuvée with the eponymous name, marked by malbec, a grape variety he particularly appreciated. A wine of strong character, but not without finesse".

Aromas of green apple, lemon and mineral. Medium-bodied, with lively, zesty acidity. Lively, lemony finish.
Jeb Dunnuck
Rated wine (guide 2021) 90/100
About the wine:
I love this estate's white, and the 2018 Château Puygueraud is a vibrant, almost racy wine, with lots of lemon fruit as well as a touch of minerality, medium-bodied richness and bright acidity.
