Millaire vineyard
A family
It all began when Jean Garnier bought several plots of land in the 1950s. In 1979, the farm was leased for 18 years. In January 1998, Jean-Yves Millaire, Jean Garnier's grandson, took over the family business. Today, joined by his wife Christine, they farm some forty hectares in three different appellations: AOP Canon Fronsac - AOP Fronsac - AOP Bordeaux.

A land
The Fronsac and Canon-Fronsac appellations are located on the right bank of the Dordogne at the confluence of two rivers (Dordogne and Isle). This feature protects the vineyards and ensures a privileged climate. The terrain is highly varied, with many hillsides and clay-limestone soils derived from the erosion of the parent rocks, guaranteeing a great terroir.

A philosophy
Their work as winemakers, focused on quality and respect for the Earth, has naturally led them to organic and biodynamic farming. Thanks to cultivation techniques that employ no herbicides, fungicides, insecticides or other synthetic pesticides, they produce natural wines that are the pure expression of their terroir. We favor tillage, grassing, leaf thinning and, above all, meticulous monitoring of each plot, because in organic farming, everything is based on anticipation and prevention. Vinification is carried out naturally, without artifice, thanks to the winemaker's know-how. The new-found symbiosis between man and vine will enable our wines to express their full quintessence.

"A real treat

"Loupiot, the sulfur-free red Bordeaux, to be enjoyed without complexes, presides over the list of new wines that will make the heralds of Bordeaux-bashing lie." (Le Guide RVF 2023) Juicy! The purity of Cabernet and Merlot with no added sulfur. Crisp on the palate, with notes of wild berries, a real treat to share with a spring aperitif or a summer meal.

biodynamics

"A biodynamic cuvée".

Made from 40-year-old vines planted on a sandy-clay terroir and aged in foudres, barrels and amphorae, this Fronsac works wonders. The nose exhales smoky, spicy and stewed fruit notes in a tender, mineral profile. On the palate, the strawberry and raspberry aromas are delicious. Intense fruitiness then reveals a wine with just the right balance, fresh, precise and elegant. Try it with a roast. We love it!

"A vibrant tannin, leaving the fruit in the background behind a radiant texture". (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2021 - RVF) Let yourself be bewitched by this charming Canon-Fronsac. A crystalline ruby color, a spicy, fruity, fresh nose that thickens with air. Precision is expressed through a fine woodiness and a precise, balanced structure. Wow, what a wine!

A 100% Merlot that's not just delicious! A fresh nose of blackberry, raspberry and white pepper, with a round, ample and invigorating palate. Intensity invades, with a fine, seductive texture and pure fruit. A nice chewy finish and chalky tannins. A wine for pleasure at an affordable price!
