Close to Saint-Émilion and the estuary, Château Vrai Canon Bouché
is located on a plateau that benefits from
a surprising altitude, varied exposure and gentle winds.
The château's history began in
1953 with the Roux family. In March
2014, LFP Grands Vignobles de France
acquires Château Vrai Canon Bouché, keeps the existing team and decides to
to continue the high-quality work
already undertaken under the guidance of Stéphane DERENONCOURT. A rigorous program of uprooting and replanting
replanting program. The
old Merlot vines, highly expressive of the terroir, were preserved. 4 hectares were uprooted and replanted with Cabernet Franc from massal selection. At present, the estate
35% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec and 60% Merlot.
The estate sits on 13 hectares of quarries.
Totally atypical and homogeneous, the terroir of Château rai Canon Bouché is a Gem in the heart of the appellation. The soil is composed of decarbonate clay derived from asteriated limestone.
the geological bedrock of Saint-Émilion's greatest vineyards. The magic of the place is expressed
through the terroir, giving the wine a finesse and minerality sublimated by floral notes.

"A complex, fine nose of blackcurrant, morello cherry, blackberry and spices, this wine is even more seductive on the palate. A fresh attack is followed by a harmonious, round and full body, intensely fruity. On the finish, a few tannins still bear witness to its youth, but these will soften with a few years' cellaring". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020). This wine has a character of its own in the appellation, which elevates it to the summit of Bordeaux crus.
