Château Goubau
Château Goubau sits atop the St-Philippe d'Aiguilhe plateau in the Bordeaux region. The Château Goubau vineyard lies at the heart of a rare terroir, among the finest in the Bordeaux region. The estate is managed by its owners, Léa and Stéphane Goubau-Goossens, who devote all their efforts and passion to making the largely undervalued Côtes-de-Castillon appellation and the wines they produce serious challengers to the wines of Saint-Emilion and Pomerol.

Château Goubau 's vines are planted on clay-limestone soils that provide ideal water regulation, keeping the roots cool and enabling the vines to withstand drought. Château Goubau's red and rosé wines are a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The care taken throughout the winemaking process has earned Château Goubau its place among the very best Côtes-de-Castillon wines.

4/5 (3 reviews)

Notes : Wine Spectator 90/100
"La Source" is an impressive cuvée, rich in fruit and endowed with beautiful, well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and fresh. A superb 2005 for excellent value!

Château Goubau 2008

Notes : Guide Hachette Coup de Coeur + 2*(Remarkable wine)
"Intense, deep black color. A very ripe fruitiness, mixed with spices, composes a complex and powerful bouquet. The palate is also powerful, round, rich, silky and fresh at the same time, with a fine balance of fruit in brandy and well-dosed wood." (Guide Hachette des Vins 2012)
