Château de Monbadon

Visit Château de Monbadon was built in the 14th century, and is located in the commune of Monbadon-Puisseguin, some forty kilometers from Bordeaux. The 25-hectare vineyard of Château de Monbadon (20 of which are currently in production) is located for the most part on a clay-limestone plateau with a rocky subsoil at an altitude of 109 meters above sea level, very close to one of the Gironde's two highest points: 114 meters.

The rest of the vineyard spreads out on a steep slope at the foot of the château. Double Guyot pruning, disbudding and leaf thinning are used to keep yields under control. Treatments and amendments are carried out using natural products. The estate is in the process of converting to organic farming.

Château de Monbadon produces a Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux that can be enjoyed now, or cellared for several years.
