Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine noté (guide 2021) Sélectionné (An estate or house that has won us over with one or more wines from its production, without us being able to give a general opinion on the style of the entire range)
About the domain :
The estate was indeed a coaching inn in the 18th century, but it's only since the beginning of this millennium that it's been making a name for itself in the wine world. Followed by today's specialist in accessible Bordeaux, Olivier Dauga, the vineyard produces fruity, gourmet Côtes de Bourg without any rusticity. This cuvée is made from malbec, a grape variety that was once widely planted throughout the South-West, but is now only grown in the Blayais-Bourgeais region, in Cahors (under the name "cot" or "auxerrois") and also... in Argentina.
