A charming Fronsac, typical of its appellation!

Robert Parker : 90/100Gault Millau 87/100
This beautiful 15th-century Château is one of the oldest estates in Fronsac. Classified as a historic monument, it has been in the same family for over a century, and has a long history of producing outstanding wines. This cuvée château, to be enjoyed for the pleasure of the fruit, is made mainly from Merlot (80%). Aged 12 months in barrel, it reveals aromas of candied red fruits and spicy notes, a silky, generous and well-balanced palate with round, melted tannins. Ideal with prime rib...

About the domain :

"Banker Stéphane Droulers created Cuvée Haut-Carles in 1994, to express the very best that the best terroirs of Château de Carles, owned by his wife Constance Chastenet de Castaing, could produce. Carefully vinified, luxuriously oaked, this cuvée was initially the archetype of modern Bordeaux, without falling into caricature. Composed of 90% Merlot, over time we discover a highly personal expression of a racy terroir that ages harmoniously.
