"A sophisticated wine - James Suckling "
" Really floral and pretty with currants, cherries and some violets and stones. Medium-bodied with a creamy texture. Attractive tannins and stone nuances. Great percentage of merlot with cabernet, making it fresh and firm. Sophisticated." (James Suckling 2022)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (2020 guide) 5*Stars (Outstanding producers, those who represent the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and the world)
About the domain :
Since 2003, Bruno Borie, with the irreplaceable help of Éric Boissenot as oenological advisor, has brought this renowned cru back to its highest level, very close to and sometimes superior to some of the premier crus. The second wine, croix-de-beaucaillou, which includes the remarkable vines of the former Terrey Gros Cailloux, has finally joined the category's best since 2005. A third Saint Julien, Lalande-Borie, an old and esteemed brand in the wine trade, is a supple, elegant and precocious wine made from vines that belonged to Château Lagrange in 1855.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Domaine rated (2020 guide) 3*Stars (They represent the excellence of the French vineyard. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical moment)
About the domain :
Ducru-Beaucaillou is the perfect choice for lovers of great classic Médocs. Bruno Borie manages this superb cru with talent and determination, and in recent years has placed it in the top tier of Bordeaux wines. Never demonstrative, neither over-extracted nor overpowering, the wines shine with distinction and silky substance. These are great, deep, digestible and well-balanced Medocs. However, Ducru-Beaucaillou only reveals its full potential with age, so it's always a shame to taste it too early. Its fresh finish and elegant tannins are a sign of the exceptional capacity of the heart of its terroir. Croix de Beaucaillou, formerly the château's second wine, is now a cru in its own right, with its own dedicated parcel.

About the wine:
Elegant, confident nose. On the palate, rich in fruit, greedy, accessible. Between 2022 and 2027
Yves Beck
Rated wine (guide 2021) 89/100
About the wine:
Spicy and fruity, the bouquet is classic and fresh. This is confirmed on the palate, where the wine is full-bodied, balanced and well supported by its tannins. A wine with character, authenticity and a perfect embodiment of Bordeaux style. Fruit, power and sapidity. 2023-2034
Vert de Vin
Rated (2020 guide) 90-91/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is distinguished, offering a little power and harmony. Notes of blackcurrant, wild strawberry and, to a lesser extent, wild red berries are combined with hints of spice, nutmeg, discreet pepper and an imperceptible hint of fresh tobacco. Fruity, fresh, mineral and racy on the palate, with fine grain, harmony, smoothness, good definition and an acidic structure, fine tension and straightness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, pulpy/juicy red berries and, more lightly, pulpy blackcurrant, combined with fine touches of violet, nutmeg, fresh blond tobacco and discreet hints of spice and chocolate. Good length. Very fine hints of almond/crushed hazelnut and caramelization on the finish/persistence. Very fine chewiness on the finish/persistence. Good persistence.
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Wine rated (2020 guide) 89-90/100
About the wine:
Flowers, raspberries and a little spice round out the nose. The wine is medium-bodied, straightforward, round and fruity, with a fresh, sweet, crème de cassis-filled finish. Give it just a year or two in the cellar and it should show even better.
