Château Desmirail
4/5See the 2 reviews
An emblematic figure in the Margaux appellation, located in Cantenac, the Château Desmirail is named after Jean Desmiraila lawyer at the Bordeaux Parliament, who took over the château in the 17th century through his marriage to Demoiselle Rausan du Ribail. In 1855, it was awarded the title of Third Classified Growth.
In 1980, the Château Palmer company sold the property to Lucien Lurton, a famous Bordeaux personality. Since 1992, the estate has been managed by one of his ten children, Denis Lurton. With modernized production facilities, the quality of Château Desmirail wines continues to improve, and the utmost care is given to the vines and the wine-making process to ensure the continued success of this Cru Classé.
The Desmirail vineyard covers some forty hectares of gravelly soil, with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot.

"Without making a fuss, the 2016, with its airy profile, regales with its beautiful elegance and the brilliance of its fruit. A very fine bargain." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2020 - RVF) Round and fat on the palate, the and fat on the palate, Château Desmirail 2016 is a seductive wine, with powerful yet velvety tannins. On the finish, notes of ripe notes of ripe red fruit, accompanied by hints of licorice, dark chocolate and cedar, impressively long! - Delivery in wooden cases for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery).
