"Lush, creamy, silky and already expressive, the wine is full-bodied, delicate and creamy, with layer upon layer of black cherry, plum, currant, licorice, chocolate and a background note of espresso. Labégorce has been on fire since 2015 and I wouldn't be surprised, as the wines mature, to find that this is the best vintage produced to date!" (The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve 2023) - Considered an Assimilé Grand Cru, it's an outsider in the Margaux appellation! - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Château Labégorce
Margaux
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Following the reorganization of the Perrodo family's Margalais properties, Labégorce-Zédé joined Château Labégorce to become one. Marjolaine de Coninck has been managing the properties since 2010. The wines produced still have their strong identity, but now with more modernity, finesse and elegance.

Wine rated (guide 2023) 93/100
About the wine:
Magnificent, fragrant blackcurrant nose. Juicy and supple, this wine has a lovely roundness and fleshy texture in the glass, yet is quite concentrated and uncluttered. The tannins are elegant and the fruit follows a single line from start to finish. So it's not very expansive or particularly deep, but it has a pleasant style. Good acidity, concentration and freshness. Concentrated, dynamic, clean and precise. Classic, easy to drink and recommend. 2025 - 2042
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2021) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
A handsome neoclassical edifice standing in the midst of its vineyards, on the outskirts of Margaux and heading towards Pauillac, this cru has benefited from significant investment since its purchase by the Perrodo family in 1989, who also own Ch. Marquis d'Alesme. The 2009 merger with Ch. Labégorce Zédé restored its original vineyard (70 ha), which predates the 1794 partition. Nathalie Perrodo-Samani took over the family estates in 2006, following the death of her father Hubert.

Wine rated (guide 2024) 93/100
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
2020 is a beautifully opulent, fleshy wine, with wood still dressing it up at this stage. The substance is there, intense and solid, enough to harmonize the whole and offer a serious bottle in a few years' time.
About the domain :
The Perrodo family, owners of Châteaux Labégorce, Labégorce-Zédé and Marquis d'Alesme, have decided to unite the two crus under the name Labégorce. The parcels have been reorganized, and every effort is being made to make this brand one of the benchmarks for Margaux's unclassified growths. Old vintages, sold under the Labégorce-Zédé name, are generally of a very high standard.

Rated wine (guide 2022) 93/100
About the wine:
Labégorce 2020 is a dark, sumptuous beauty. The 2020 has softened a little with age, but it remains a powerful, dark Margaux. 2025 - 2040

Rated wine (guide 2021) 93-94/100
About the wine:
An edgy profile, with punchy red fruit, the material is nicely concentrated on dense, tight black fruit, lively, sapid, centered on a juicy, crunchy berry. Nicely sculpted tannins. Warm finish.
Yves Beck
Rated wine (guide 2022) 93/100
About the wine:
Labégorce has undeniably mastered the art of inviting and charming! The bouquet shows off its breeding, complemented by spicy and fruity nuances. The wine doesn't just want to please, it also wants to convince, and it does so very well, at least in terms of taste! Fine balance between ample, fine-grained tannins and incisive structure. In short, a charmer with character. 2026-2040

About the wine:
Lush, creamy, silky and already expressive, the wine is full-bodied, delicate and creamy, with layer upon layer of black cherry, plum, currant, licorice, chocolate and a background note of espresso. Labégorce has been on fire since 2015 and I wouldn't be surprised, as the wines mature, to find that this is the best vintage produced to date! Drink between 2025 and 2047.
