It's medium to full-bodied, suave and seamless, with a deep core of vibrant fruit, beautifully refined tannins and a harmonious, integrated profile that exudes elegance. A wine of immense character and refinement. This is the best recent vintage from this estate". Guide Hachette des vins

Wine rated (guide 2024) 2*Stars (Outstanding wine)

About the wine:

After two magnificent vintages, 2018 and 2019, Rauzan-Ségla has produced a 2020 that has nothing to be ashamed of in comparison. With a beautiful depth of color, it reveals a fine, complex nose of plum, blackcurrant, flowers, chocolate and mint on a background of smoky notes. The palate is devilishly silky, with great elegance and freshness around firm, velvety, perfectly chiselled tannins, and a long, fruit-stretching finish. 2028-2040

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the wine:

Another admirable success for this cru at the pinnacle of refinement. The palate is perfectly in tune, harmonious and coherent, with vibrant fruit notes and very smooth, silky tannins. All this without lacking power or volume.

About the domain :

Château Rauzan-Ségla is sailing at a high level. We are struck by the 2019's burst of fruit and the wine's ability to digest its great ripeness. It finishes on taffeta tannins, with refreshing acidity and a hint of mint; impressively dense, with more candied fruit than in 2018, but plenty of charm and depth. Finishes on a note of cocoa, with tannins that remain very delicate. We were also able to taste more "ready-to-drink" vintages again, such as the 2010, in great shape, or the 2006, fine and silky.

About the wine:

Château Rauzan-Ségla 2020 is a pure gem from Margaux, and this magnificently elegant wine embodies the very best of the vintage. It reveals a deep ruby/purple color and a superb bouquet of blackcurrant, black cherry, lead pencil, sandalwood, smoky tobacco and incense notes. The palate is medium to full-bodied, layered and seamless, with integrated acidity and a superb finish. It offers pleasure now (though it's closing up in the open air), but deserves 5-7 years of bottle age and will evolve for 30 years or more. It's clearly in the same category as the 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019. Tasted several times with consistent results. 2028 - 2058

About the domain :

In great vintages, Château Rauzan-Ségla offers power, finesse and balance in equal measure. Very typical of the Margaux region, it reveals a very silky mouthfeel when the oak is not too strong.

About the wine:

With its precision and exceptional definition, Rauzan-Ségla confirms its position among the Margaux elite. What a great wine, what depth and subtlety, where everything is approached with finesse. It knows how to be full and slender, soft and lively, inviting and demanding. Each element has a well-defined role. The freshness of the garrigues, the fruity intensity of the raspberries and cherries and then the rare precision of the tannins, complemented by a juicy structure and a fine bitterness that complements the aromatic intensity and persistence of the finish. Everything comes together to underline the greatness of this wine. 2026-2050

About the wine:

The complex fragrance is distinguished by its array of flowers, cinnamon, currants, cherries, cigar box and a touch of tobacco. The wine is full-bodied, deep, sensual, silky and, yes, sexy. It finishes with an abundance of fruit, espresso and dark cocoa that hold our attention for over 50 seconds. 2027-2060
