Château Gachon
Château Gachon is a family estate created in the aftermath of the Second World War by Jean-Baptiste Arpin, the grandfather of Gérard Arpin, who took up the family torch. He decided to focus on production quality, and equipped Château Gachon with ultra-modern equipment: temperature-controlled vinification cellars, pneumatic press, micro-bullage... His son Gaël joined him in 1999. Thanks to their complementary skills, they put all their heart into the vineyard and the winery. Always striving for excellence, they continually adapt to ensure that each vintage of this Montagne-Saint-Emilion cru is a success.

The Arpin family owns 4 châteaux in the Bordeaux region: Château Franc Maillet in Pomerol, Château Vieux Gachet in Lalande-de-Pomerol, Château La Fleur Chantecaille in Saint-Emilion and Château Gachon in Montagne-Saint-Emilion. The latter estate covers 15 hectares of vines planted on sunny, siliceous-clay soil. Château Gachon is blended from Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabertnet Sauvignon grapes. It benefits from all the experience and know-how of the Arpin vineyards to produce a top-quality Montagne-Saint-Emilion that ages beautifully.

Château Gachon - Cuvée Les Petits Rangas 2008

4/5 (1 review)

Owners of Château Franc Maillet in Pomerol, Gaël and Gérard Arpin also oversee the destiny of Château Gachon, which produces this Cuvée Les Petits Rangas, named after a parcel facing South/South-East and sitting on a predominantly silico-clay terroir. A very pleasant, charming wine, with a beautiful, concentrated body that expresses itself with finesse. A beautifully crafted bottle!
