Château Gressier Grand Poujeaux
Château Gressier Grand Poujeaux belongs to the Merlaut family, also owners of the famous Château Chasse-Spleen. In 1700, Château Gressier, named after its creator, began on its own on the Grand Poujeaux hilltop. Now the cocoon from which Chasse-Spleen was hatched, the two estates would rub shoulders for almost two centuries, before merging. But one difference remained. The outgrowth became the matrix: Chasse-Spleen, buying out Gressier, reshaped the contours of the original estate. The plots of land of the two winegrowing entities on the gravelly hilltop of Grand Poujeaux have remained intertwined like the fingers of two joined hands.

The vineyards of Château Gressier Grand Poujeaux is located on the Grand Poujeaux ridge, named after the village. This magnificent terroir lies in the midst of prestigious neighbors Chasse-Spleen and Poujeaux.

The Merlauts, through Jacques' granddaughter, Céline Villars, and her husband Jean-Pierre Foubet, have remained faithful to their traditional style of wine, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot. Château Gressier Grand Poujeaux on a traditional market by entrusting it to the Bordeaux wine trade. The wine has benefited from the technical and empirical approach of the Chasse-Spleen team. It has become sharper, fruitier and sweeter.

"By the same team as Chasse-Spleen!"

"Crafted by the same team as neighboring Château Chasse-Spleen, the wine from this nearly 7-hectare estate is fruity, with the potential for smooth texture and rich fruit. The wine offers spice, juicy cassis and a delicious aftertaste. Drink from 2021."
