"Close to Batailley, this cru is also part of the Castéja heritage. The wine retains a family resemblance with its cousin, while asserting its own personality. The freshness of its cherry-red color blends perfectly with the sweetness of the bouquet (vanilla, candied fruit). Very Pauillac, with a cohort of tannins that can be kept for a long time, the palate calls for waiting a few years". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2009).

Pauillac
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 15/20 (Very good wine)
Domain rated (2020 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
A sunny wine with a very "roasted" nose, broad, voluptuous, very "modern" even if vinified under the guidance of Denis Dubourdieu. More voluptuous than fine.
About the domain :
Philippe Castéja has worked hard to restore a superb family estate in the Pauillac hinterland. The aging of the vines and the construction of a high-performance work tool enable him to produce a supple, fleshy wine that is constantly improving. Its terroir enables it to open up before most of the wines in its appellation, which should make it more present on restaurant menus, with good value for money.

About the wine:
Close to Batailley, this cru is also part of the Castéja heritage. The wine shares a family resemblance with its cousin, while asserting its own personality. The freshness of its cherry-red color blends perfectly with the sweetness of its bouquet (vanilla, candied fruit). Very Pauillac, with a cohort of tannins that keep well, the palate calls for a few years' patience.
About the domain :
Owned since the 18th century by Count Lynch, until it was divided in two, giving Lynch Moussas and Lynch-Bages. Émile Castéja, who joined the family in 1919, took over the estate in 1969 and restructured the vines and winery. His son Philippe has been at the helm of this 35-hectare cru, close to Batailley, also owned by the Castéja family, since 2001.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Wine rated (2015 guide) 89/100 (Very good wine)
About the wine:
Lynch-Moussas 2005 is a supple, fruity wine from the Castéja family. It shows well, with ripe tannins, a touch of cassis, spice and earth. This medium-bodied wine should drink well for another 15 years or more.

Rated 15.5/20 (Good wine)
Domain rated (guide 2020) Selected (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the domains that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the wine:
The beginning of the revival. It benefits from the generosity of the vintage. Moderately powerful, it offers good mellowness.
About the domain :
For several years now, Philippe Castéja has been giving new impetus to this classified growth. Oenologist Denis Dubourdieu has carried out extensive work on the estate, starting with the reorganization of the vineyard. Over the last few vintages, the wines have progressed and the château benefits from technical facilities that should enable it to go even further. Lynch-Moussas produces a relatively fine, medium-bodied wine that can be drunk fairly quickly.
