"Lots of potential!"
"It has confidence and a discreet but clear tannic presence. It manages its alcohol well, with lovely dark spices on the mid-palate, enabling it to retain an uplifting structure. The Malbec clearly plays a part in this quiet power. Blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, moving towards juicy blueberry as the palate opens. It distinguished itself as a primeur and never ceased to impress. " (Decanter 2020) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 17/20 (Reference wine)
About the wine:
Very well-developed, yet paradoxically very fresh nose, marked floral nuances, mouth full of charm and flavors, with a tight grain, elegant tannins and lots of freshness. Great potential.

About the domain :
"Bouscaut now appeals to us thanks to the frankness of its wines. A great deal of progress has been made by Sophie and Laurent Cogombles, who have put all their heart, time and energy into turning around the viticulture and vinification of this Graves cru classé. The originality of this terroir is perfectly apparent in the latest vintages: the white wines, made from a grape variety that had previously been equally divided, have since 2011 seen an increase in Sauvignon from 50% to 60% in the blend (53% in 2012). They possess charm and substance, while the reds, marked by Merlot and a touch of Malbec in certain vintages, have gained in body and textural quality.

About the wine:
If the wood ageing makes a strong statement at this stage, this wine has a bright future thanks to the dense black fruits that bring richness, balance and acidity. The wine will develop slowly, so wait until 2025.
James Suckling
Rated wine (guide 2021 ) 93/100
About the wine:
Nose of black fruits, black olives, dried leaves, clove and tobacco. Tar and graphite too. Medium- to full-bodied, with firm, powdery tannins. Concentrated with fresh acidity and a chalky, mineral finish. Try from 2024.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (2020 guide) 92/100
About the wine:
Medium garnet-red. The bouquet is elegant, with good intensity and balance. Of course, you can feel the ageing, but the fruity intensity is so pleasant that the whole is harmonious. On the palate, the wine is soft, almost suave, with perfectly integrated tannins. A Bouscaut already tempting thanks to its freshness. 2025-2036
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Wine rated (guide 2021) 92/100
About the wine:
A smooth, refined, medium-bodied, elegant wine with an assertive style, silky tannins and a spicy, black cherry-filled palate. Give it 4-5 years to develop further complexities before popping the cork. This wine shows much more depth in bottle than it did in barrel.
