"Fieuzal belongs to the big league in Pessac-Léognan ~ Yves Beck "
"The 2019 Château de Fieuzal presents a complex nose, a blend of red and black fruits, crushed stone and a touch of black truffle. Serious. The palate is beautifully balanced with firm, quite "solid" tannins, a Pessac-Léognan built for the long haul with a sapid, almost saline finish. This is the best Fieuzal of recent years". (Vinous 2023) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
For a long time, this cru was famous first for its white wine, one of the most complete in Léognan, then also for its red, at its best one of the most brilliant illustrations of the Pessac-Leognan character. The last decade has seen the return of Fieuzal Blanc to its highest level. The new, ultra-efficient winery, with its many small vats of varying capacities, in concrete, stainless steel or wood, now enables director Stephen Carrier to produce haute-couture.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 94/100
About the wine:
This wine is ripe and rich, and the fruit is also well expressed. Full-bodied on the attack, with firm, assertive tannins. A truly impressive Fieuzal that starts confidently and never strays from the line. Chocolate shavings and licorice notes clash with slate and savory cassis, and illustrate Pessac's tightrope between intensity and elegance. 2026-2040

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
This classified growth, located just south of Léognan, produced some of Bordeaux's finest whites in the 1980s. After being sold to Banque Populaire in 1994, Fieuzal declined until 2001. It was in this year that Irish businessman Lochlann Quinn acquired the estate, then hired Champagne's Stephen Carrier as its director. From that moment on, the cru returned to an excellent level, with an obvious search for body, elegance and tannin in the reds, and freshness now with the arrival on the scene of consultant Thomas Duclos. With failures (2013) and great successes (2008), the whites are gradually returning to their full, intense, ageable character.

About the wine:
The succulence of this wine is impressive and palpable. It adds blackcurrant fruit to the spices, while keeping solid tannins in the background. This beautiful combination means it will certainly age well. Drink from 2026.

Yves Beck
Rated wine (guide 2021 ) 95/100
About the wine:
From the outset, Fieuzal's bouquet stands out for its freshness, fruity expression and floral notes. Both freshness and fruit are present from the outset. The wine is full-bodied, with a juicy structure and fine tannins, gradually gaining in breadth to impose themselves serenely on the finish. These go hand in hand with the acid structure. These two elements confer freshness, fullness and potential. They also underline the extent to which Fieuzal is part of Pessac-Léognan's big league! 2024-2044
Vert de Vin
Rated wine (guide 2021) 95/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is elegant and delicate, offering subtlety, silkiness, breed and fine grain. Notes of pulpy/fresh blackberry, raspberry and, more lightly, small crunchy berries combine with hints of iris, fresh lily, redcurrant, mocha, as well as discreet varietal hints (elegant), subtle hints of sweet spices and toastiness. A subtle / very discreet hint of almost fresh saffron (on the floral side). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, nicely elegant and full of finesse/mastery, offering brightness, good definition, fullness, roundness, power and fullness with finesse and mastery. This wine is just right. Creaminess, but with finesse, not opulence or heaviness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, violet, fleshy/juicy redcurrant and, more lightly, lily and iris, combined with hints of fleshy red berries, toastiness and fine hints of tonka bean, cardamom, saline minerality, mocha and a subtle hint of toast. Elegant, fine tannins. Good length.

About the wine:
Aromatically, it's easy to find flavors of chocolate, flowers, espresso, smoke, black cherries and plums. The wine is fresh, vibrant, sweet, lush, chocolatey and full of ripe berries. Give it a few years in the cellar and it'll really start to shine. Drink between 2024 and 2038.
