Château Picque Caillou
On the outskirts of Bordeaux Château Picque Caillou is located in the heart of the Graves appellation, not far from the prestigious Haut-Brion and Pape Clément vineyards. Located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, the terroir of this 21-hectare vineyard is stony and composed of fine gravel, as its name suggests. It is one of the historic châteaux around the city, the cradle of Bordeaux winegrowing.

2006 marked a turning point, thanks to the management of Paul Calvet, who focused the work of Château Picque Caillou on consistency and improvement in the quality of the wines. Supported by the 2 consultant oenologists, Valérie Lavigne and the late Denis Dubourdieu and now his team, the estate is constantly progressing, offering elegant wines with purity and fruit, reflections of their terroirs.
The grape varieties are predominantly red, made up of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot; and for the white, mostly Sauvignon with a little Semillon.

"Quality at an affordable price!

"This well-structured wine has both richness and tension. The blackcurrant fruit is balanced by a mineral texture that gives the wine a taut, structured edge that contrasts with the juicy fruit. This suggests that the wine will age well. Drink from 2026. La Réserve is Picque Caillou's second wine, made from young vines of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Very pleasant, it is marked on the nose by luscious notes of red and black fruit. The palate is suave and instantly accessible, ending on a woody vanilla note. Accessible Pessac Léognan.
