Wine rated (2020 guide) 89/100 (Very good wine)

About wine:

Deep garnet-purple in color, Château Bellegrave 2019 opens with seductive notes of plum jam, blueberry pie, and blackberry compote with hints of licorice, earth, cinnamon stick, and garrigue. Medium-bodied, the palate is loaded with juicy black fruits and loads of spicy accents, framed by mellow tannins and just the right amount of freshness, ending on a note of anise.

Wine rated (2021 guide) 92/100

About wine:

What elegance and precision in this bouquet. It is complex and deep, revealing notes of black berries, licorice, and spices. Creamy on the palate, the wine has tight tannins that harmonize with the freshness of the acidity. A wine that is still somewhat monolithic but has substance and potential.

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2020 guide) 91-92/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About wine:

The nose is fruity and offers juiciness, a little power (but controlled), a delicate freshness, a delicate intensity, and precision. There are notes of boysenberry, wild blackcurrant, and a hint of cubeb pepper, combined with touches of wild strawberry, lily, iris, and hints of tonka bean, toast, tea, and a very subtle hint of cardamom. The palate is fruity, juicy, balanced, and offers smoothness, a delicate freshness, as well as a delicate tension and richness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackcurrant, juicy wild raspberry and, more subtly, blueberry/violet, combined with hints of blue berries and touches of toast, chocolate, and very subtle hints of cardamine, tea and cubeb pepper. Good length. The tannins are well integrated. A delicate sapidity on the finish/persistence.
